Improve your account security

The security of your Netim Direct account is a priority. Sensitive data such as your bank details is stored in your account. To help you keep track, we have developed a security gauge that indicates your account level of security.

This indicator is based on whether or not you have activated the various security features we offer: login alerts, password updates, IP restriction or two-factor authentication.
To make sure your account is secure:

  1. Log in to your Netim Direct account
  2. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  3. Select “Personal information

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication or 2FA protects your account and your personal information. In addition to your password, a security code generated by a 2FA application on your smartphone (or your computer) will be required to log into your account.

This process will prevent any unauthorised person from logging into your account.

  1. Log in to your Netim Direct account
  2. Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of the screen
  3. Select “Connection and Security
  4. Click “Enable” on the two-factor authentication line
Enable 2FA

There are 3 steps to set up 2FA:

  1. The installation of a 2FA application
  2. The verification of the configuration
  3. The generation of backup codes in case a problem occurs with your application

Configuring your two-factor authentication application

Here are the main ones depending on your OS:

Once the application is installed, add a new entry by clicking on the + icon of your application (Google Authenticator). Then, scan the QRCode displayed on the screen or manually enter the key just above the QRCode (it’s possible to copy the key in the clipboard simply by clicking on it).

Checking the configuration

In order to verify that the application has been properly configured, you will be asked to enter the token generated by your application (6 digits).

Generating backup codes

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is now enabled on your account.

The backup codes will allow you to log in if you lose your smartphone, for example. We recommend that you save or print them out and keep them in a secure location.

Enable two factor authentification

Add a new device

  1. Go to the “Connection and Security” page
  2. Click on the + icon and scan the QRCode with the device you want to grant access to.

How to use backup codes

In case of a temporary or permanent loss of access to your account, you will have to enter one of your backup codes (6 digits) instead of the code provided by the application in order to log in.
