Some domain names have local presence requirements domain owners or administrative contacts must comply with.

The trustee service and the local contact service are two domain services that help your clients to fulfill such registration rules.

According to the extension, these services can be free of charge or paid but you can resell them to your clients with ClientExec as product addons.

Create product addons

You can manage your addons at Settings > Addons, ensure to select “Domain services” in the filter.

You need to create several addons:

An addon for the trustee service
An addon for the local contact service
More if you have dedicated description, pricing or periods

An addon is defined with a name, a description, two options for the customer’s subscription choice (Yes or No) and some plugin values.

Please find below the default settings for both services:

Trustee service

Name: “Trustee service”
Product group: “Domain Services”
Description: “This service allows to fulfill the registration criteria by using a trustee as domain name holder on your behalf”
First Option
- Option Label: No
- 0 for the selected terms
- Plugin Value: No
Second Option
- Option Label: Yes
- Your pricing for the selected terms
- Plugin Value: Yes
Plugin variable : Custom variable
Variable Name: TRUSTEE

Local contact service

Name : “Local contact service”
Product group: “Domain Services”
Description: “This service allows to fulfill the registration criteria by using a local contact as domain name administrative contact”

Caution ⚠️

You need to define your addon in all supported languages so that you can translate the name, the description and the option labels displayed to the customer.

However, Plugin Value / Plugin variable / variable name must not be changed otherwise the module will not handle correctly the addon purchase.

In addition, for each option, ensure to define the same period than the period of the extension. If you define an extension from 1 to 10 years, define also the options from 1 to 10 years otherwise the addon will not be displayed for mismatched years.

Add an addon to an extension

Once product addons are created, you can add them to their respective extensions.
