Domain Availability Service
Our DAS is made available to query domain names in an automated way through several methods. They are built in order to provide accurate and fast responses, over secured protocols, and to support high volumes.
Important information
Making mass requests on our website (www.netim.com) through its online forms and ajax is not allowed in order to preserve his performance to our Internet users. Netim reserves the right to ban any abusive IP addresses. We urge our resellers to use the DAS instead. Our team is at your disposal to discuss your needs and how to implement our services.
Our DAS vs standard methods
The standard and most basic way to check domain availability is to query the corresponding whois or rdap server. This method is fast but could be inaccurate:
- Reserved terms are often returned as available
- Premium domain names are not detected
- Most whois servers are rate-limited with a low number of requests per minute.
Using our DAS, we do our best to provide the most accurate results thanks to our accreditations and links with registries.
How to query the DAS?
Using API
The domainCheck function allows you to check the status of one or more domain names.
You can provide a list of domain names separated by semicolons: netim1.com;netim2.com;netim3.com; etc. You will then receive a result for each domain.
Warning ⚠
You cannot mix several extensions when performing a domainCheck.
Not all extensions accept a domainCheck (see “List of extensions” ).
In this case you have to check the domains one by one.
Using HTTP
You can access the URL below to query the availability of a particular domain name.
https://www.netim.com/bin/das-web.php?login=XXXX&password=YYYY&domain=[DOMAIN]
- Replace “XXXX” with your Reseller ID.
- Replace “YYYY” with your DAS password.
- Replace “[DOMAIN]” with the domain to be queried.
Warning ⚠
For security reasons, your DAS password is not your reseller password.
Your DAS password is available in your reseller preferences.
Limitations
Whatever the method used to query the DAS, a reseller is limited by default to 5,000 queries per day. You can increase this limit by contacting our support team.
